Ukraine can probably jam Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missiles.

"Kh-47M2 Kinzhal. 2018 Moscow Victory Day Parades" (Wikipedia)

The jammer system called Lima has proven effective against those hypersonic missiles. Says Kyiv Independent. This is good news for defense. And another thing is that. If the system can turn hypersonic missiles off course, that could be a big step. Against things. Like kinetic energy warheads. There are claims that the Russian new “Oreshnik” intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM) can have kinetic energy warheads. But the accuracy of those missiles is about 200 m, which is too low for kinetic ammunition, which requires extremely high precision. That ammunition is a terror tool. If. They do not have high enough accuracy. The kinetic energy ammunition. It could be a powerful tool. Against the aircraft carriers. If they are accurate enough.

The kinetic ammunition is like a bullet that requires a direct hit. And that means. The kinetic energy ammunition. It cannot affect harder targets. But a hypersonic warhead can be devastating if its pressure wave hits non-armoured targets. There are actually two ways to make the jammer systems. The first one. It is. The ECM system that sends radio signals. That covers the enemy communication and tracking systems. Another version is to create a plasma cloud between the radio transmitter and receiver. The high-altitude plasma layer can deny the GPS operations. The Ukrainian “Lima” system is proven effective against Kinzhals, but also drone swarms and glide bombs.

Or. That’s what the Kyiv Independent reports. The system disturbs satellite communication. That makes it impossible to navigate drones and communicate with them using satellites. There is a possibility. To replace part of those satellite-based systems with aircraft and ground stations. But those systems are more vulnerable than satellites. But things like communication satellites are also vulnerable to ASAT systems. The system could use similar technology with AGM-88 HARM. It detects the satellite and then destroys it. The system. It can be silo-based. Or launched from high-flying aircraft.

(ResearchGate)

(kyivindependent)

(Kyivpost)

And that requires developing the systems. that are independent of GPS and radio signals. The system can use inertial and terrain-contour matching (TERCOM) to guide an aircraft to a target. This kind of system uses visual route recognition. The system compares aerial pictures of its route. With images that are stored in its memory. The system. It operates in UV- IR. And visual wavelengths.

Another version is the electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The EMP is sometimes connected to the nuclear explosions. And in many scenarios, nuclear attack begins when nuclear warheads are detonated. In a low Earth orbiter. This thing destroys electronics immediately. But actors like the U.S. Air Force have tested and used the conventional EMP- or “E-bomb”. The system is based. On the high-energy radio or microwave impulse. That impulse is formed by pressing the battery. By using explosives. But there is also a possibility. Of creating EMP pulses without explosives. In those cases, the radio or microwave transmitters are equipped with high-power impulse capacitors.

The system. It loads electricity into those capacitors. When the system sends the EMP pulse. It just loads electricity from those capacitors to the radio transmitter. The big difference between the explosive and capacitor systems is that. Those capacitors can be reloaded, and the system can give EMP pulses multiple times. The explosive-based systems are always single-use.

So, what is the EMP? It’s simply the high-power electromagnetic impulse. When high-power radio signals hit the electric circuit. It forms the surge. That destroys all electricity. In some visions, the agent can slip the high-power capacitor into the data center. And then that capacitor sends an electric impulse to the computers. Another version is that the captured power plant. It sends high-power electricity to the enemy's electric network.

The fact is that any radio transmitter can act as an E-bomb. This means that any radar can act as this kind of system. There is a possibility. To aim the EMP pulses at the incoming missiles, which can destroy their electronics. The high-power jammer signals can also blind its altimeters. And leave detonation to less accurate barometric systems. If the missile uses a radar system. For the last-period guidance, the jammer can deny its ability to detect the target. But the EMP can destroy all the electronics. That missile needs for its operations. Without those electronics, the missile cannot find its target. Even if it uses only inertial. Or it cannot even detonate its warhead without those electric components.

The EMP weapon can affect drone swarms. But they are also powerful tools for hypersonic warheads. Those missiles can use the high-power electromagnetic transmitters to shut down defense.

There is also a possibility of denying the missile launch by using the EMP bombs. The high-power EMP pulse can destroy the missile’s computers, which denies its launch. But the EMP weapons are not so harmless as people might think. Crossing high-power radio impulses form electric arcs into the air. Those electric arcs can light a match. Those radio impulses can be extremely dangerous. The radio impulses jump from the ionosphere. And that means they can destroy targets behind the walls. The system bases. Two aimed radio transmitters that send crossing radio signals with opposite polarity. These kinds of systems can be dangerous. Against unprotected targets from long distances.

Why is it hard to impose sanctions on Russia?

Why is it hard to impose sanctions on Russia?

We always wonder why Trump hesitates to impose sanctions against Russia. The reason for that is extremely complicated. We know that the Russian government has large-scale nuclear weapons that they use as blackmail tools. That is an easy explanation. There is also another problem with Russia, and that problem is China. China is the biggest producer of rare earth metals. In the world. Even if the USA is one of the most powerful and advanced countries in the world. That country is bound in the international, global-scale raw material network.

And that thing puts the brakes on the U.S. government. The USA has been the most advanced microchip maker on this planet. But the problem is that. This country requires many strategic metals and minerals that are used to make microchips and other technical equipment. This means that if China does not deliver those minerals, the USA’s ability to produce microchips decreases. Another problem is things like oil. Many oil producers in the Middle East are BRICS countries. Those countries want to see Putin as their ally. The reason for that is that those nations are non-democratic, and the activist movement wants to limit weapon sales to those countries.

Those people know that Putin is not as sharp as Western actors who use those weapons. And Putin can sell things like nuclear weapons technology to those countries whose main source of income is minerals, and especially the oil and gas industry. The U.S military requires oil and gas for its global operations. The nuclear bomber can operate on a global scale using airborne refueling. But the support operators.  Like special forces teams. Need petroleum for their equipment, in case the nuclear bomber must make an emergency landing. Those operators also require a base in the Middle East where they can operate. In those situations.

Another problem is that Putin thinks that he can try to buy politicians and other people to support his propaganda. People know. That Putin and his regime are willing to make sacrifices to stay in control.  The fact is that those sacrifices don’t touch Putin’s nomenclature. And that is the thing that is a big problem. Another thing is that nobody knows how big a sacrifice Putin is willing to make. Putin is the man who is in command. But he is not the entire regime. There are people in Russia who support his policy. That means changing the leader might not mean that war ends or anything changes in Russia.

There is a certain cycle. When we think about the freedoms in the Soviet Union and Russia. There are always thaws when new, young leaders take their position. But when leaders turn old. The secret police will start to tighten its grip on society. That means arresting and sending to the GULAG. When the leaders change, the people who served those leaders turn into criminals. In one night. After Stalin’s death, his loyal servants like Beriya and many other people went to prison and were executed. That was the second purge. Those purges followed all other soviet leaders. And they still continued. The idea is that people who served the old regime are useless. And the new leader collects a new regime around him.

The thing is that the secret police controls the entire society in Russia. If leaders are not pleasing the secret police organization. That person faces a heart attack. As long as the secret police exists, there cannot be big changes in the Russian government. The secret police surrounds all Russian leaders as it surrounded Stalin, Lenin, and the Tsar. That organization is like a state in a state. And those people don’t hesitate to use violence. It is almost certain that the secret police killed the ex. Chairman of the KGB, Yuri Andropov. because the leader of the Communist Party, or literally the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, wanted to limit the secret police’s power. The KGB probably used salt injection for that case because Andropov’s kidneys were damaged, and that caused death.

Why Russian invasion of Ukraine was something else than it should?

Above: Antonov An-22 heavy transport aircraft plays a vital role in the Russian military. Heavy transporters' primary role is that they can carry paratroopers to capture some airfields. Then the same planes can bring tanks, artillery, and men for creating another front behind the enemy back.

The idea of this tactic is this: Russian forces are taking enemy troops between two main groups.  Then Russians would destroy their enemy by using mortars, tanks, and artillery.

Putin planned that the Russian invasion and Ukraine occupation would be a good demonstration of the skills of the modern Russian military. The invasion was planned as a short-term military action against Ukraine. And then something went wrong.

The key element in the Russian military tactics is the cooperation between tank corpses and VDV (Airborne Assault troops). The idea is that when the Russian main force attacks from the front the paratroopers attack to back of the troops and conquer some airfields. Then cargo planes bring tanks and other equipment to the back of the enemy troops. So the idea of this tactic is that the enemies of the Russian army are on two fronts. And Russian military can attack from two sides.

The Russian plan was probably to destroy the Ukrainian main force. That would defend the area between the Russian border and Kyiv. The idea was that the Kyiv airport captured by VDV and the heavy artillery along with tank corpses and motorized infantry would crush the Ukrainian troops that location is between those groups.

The airport would be the base, where the Russian military brings tanks and other equipment. If that plan was successful the Russian military would crush the Ukrainian army in one single battle. But then something happened. VDV fail in its mission. And the Ukrainian back was secured.

Then the Ukrainians got some impressive victories. Because Ukraine didn't fall in 36 hours the Russian plans were ineffective. The idea of the service of this operation was that Russian troops would get their food from supermarkets.  Only ammunition and fuel were in the convoys that followed the main battle units.

Those mainly unprotected vehicles are good targets for Bayraktar-drones. And Ukrainian helicopters and aircraft. Russians didn't expect that the Ukrainian air force can operate against them. They expected that the captured airfields eliminates the threat of the Ukrainian air force. So those troops didn't have anti-aircraft equipment.

And also, the Western military aid to Ukraine was a surprise. Russian leaders believed that their nuclear arsenal makes Western nations afraid. And Russian gas would be a good tool for buying sympathy from the Western nations. So stick and carrot was the method that Russians planned to use on Western nations. The carrot was cheap energy. And the stick was the threat of military actions.

The thing that caused more casualties is probably that the Russian headquarters didn't know that the prime element of this kind of military operation fail. Without the success of the VDV, the Russians couldn't build another front behind Ukrainian lines. When the war is prolonged the nations must say something.

The leaders of the Western nations couldn't just stand. Because the resistance continues that thing will encourage Western nations to give more and more military aid to Ukraine. The Russian invasion of Ukraine caused fear that similar action can happen to anybody.

Why other governments don't make an invasion in North Korea

Kimmo Huosionmaa

There is one question about the geopolitics, and that is "how other nations allow North Korea to make things as it does?". One of the answers could be that small crisis with that nation would turn the public eye away from some local problems like uncomfortable laws, what are made in the Parliaments, and the crisis in the Korean peninsula would be a very good thing, to fill the front pages of the newspapers.

The nuclear armament of that state guarantees that the military invasion against that country is not an option and the nuclear armament is a good threat for any country in the world. But the fact about the North Korean nuclear missiles is, that they could be effective against civilian targets like cities and another kind of things. Also if North Korea uses EMP weapon, what might be camouflaged as the satellite, it can make serious damages to the electric and signal devices, and shut down some communication lines. But that kind of attack causes immediately counter-strike.

In fact, the attack by nuclear weapons is over-dramatized. There is the change to use biological weapons by a very terrible and silent way. Only what the government must do is to inject some bacteria virus like Ebola or Crimean Congo to some person, and after that send that man or woman walking on the streets. The epidemic could kill millions of people. And the reason, why China as an example have established a military base in Africa could be that they also want to get organisms from the jungle to their laboratories. The reason why people afraid more nuclear weapons than biological warfare is that nuclear weapons are more dramatic than bioweapons.

The production of nuclear weapons is more difficult than biological weapons, what can product in very simple laboratories by using normal organisms like Tuberculosis or viruses. The afraid of nuclear weapons is a good example that we are afraid the thing, what we actually don't need to afraid. But we cannot afraid the thing, what we should afraid, and only thing, what is needed in biological warfare is a vaccine, what makes own troop immune against those weapons.

The thing, what makes this small country very complicated is the speculation, that North Korea is allowed to make nuclear weapons because superpowers need somebody, what plays "role of a bad boy" in their policy. And they want that this political "bad boy" looks like the serious enemy. The fact is, that this enemy is easy to terminate with nuclear weapons if it becomes a real threat. That nation can, of course, cause terrible destruction in the West coast of the USA or it can kill millions of people by attacking Shanghai or make destruction in Petropavlovsk but in the scale of those nations, the destruction would be only local. Of course, many people would die but for the entirety that has little influence. But this justifies the attack on that country.

About the meeting between Trump and Putin and U.S support to Russia and the Soviet Union.

https://kimmontaidearvioita.blogspot.com/

Kimmo Huosionmaa

There have been comments, that Trump was accepted the limitations of human rights in Russia, and makes brotherhood with dictators. But when we are going back to the Second World War there was the law, what was known as "Lending and Renting law". That law guaranteed that Joseph Stalin got military equipment from the United States during the Second World War, and USA delivered many military aircraft like Bell P-39 "Airacobra", A-20 "Havoc" and DC-3 to Soviet Air Force.

Also, some tanks and one Royal Sovereign class battleship were given by the USA and Great Britain, what delivered battleship for Stalin for the fire support role in 1944. That battleship returned to Royal Navy in 1949. That law actually supported Joseph Stalin to stay in power, and the question is, what the Soviet Union gave back for that equipment? Nobody ever asked, was this support necessary or did the United States government knew about the human right situation in the Soviet Union. But that was the Second World War and Western allies needed help, and Stalin was able to give that help in the form of the Second Front. And that was real after Hitler attacked the Soviet Union and the USA took the part to War after the Pearl Harbour Attack in 6. December 1941.

But when we are thinking about the supporting undemocratic government, the meeting between Trump and Putin is actually the very important thing, because Vladimir Putin is the very well known man, whose way to work we all know. And what we afraid in the west? There are persons, what have been out of the publicity, and who wait that Putin will someday divorce from the position of the power in Russia.

Those persons are same style men and women, who believe the Great Russian empire, and those persons might be very surprising actors if they would get the power. Putin himself is not the problem, the problem is the forces, what support him. When he got the power in Russia after the strange heart attack of Yeltsin, Russia got the president who had skills and relationships to crush the organized crime, but the work was left to halfway.

Putin crushed the street gangs, but he couldn't get the leaders of the organized crime to court. Those persons legalized their business and now they will sell the mobile telephones, and nobody ever can show them ex-mafia bosses. Putin Used KGB in that operation, and the peaceful streets were enough for people, who were tired of violence and corruption.

And the forces, what keep Putin in power are the very complicated thing. If some decisions of the people who they support are not pleased them, the punishment would be death. So if those forces want, that Putin will continue his career as the President of Russia, that man would not have a change, or he would become the disappointment, and that would cause the heart attack by potassium-chlorinate injection. And when we are thinking about Putin, he could continue his career quite long, and maybe he wants to become some kind of Brezhnev, who was many years in the power of Soviet Union.
