A new semiconductor is a big step for photonic computing.

“When two pulses of different colored lasers light  (the two waves at the top of the image)meet in a new device created at the University of Michigan, researchers create a beam of electrons (small golden particles) that flows in a controllable direction. By changing the laser colors, the electron beam can sweep through different directions. Like the beam of a lighthouse. Credit: Yiming Gong." (ScitechDaily, New Semiconductor Device Turns Light Into a Directed Current)

"The light-controlled electron current could open new paths for sensing, telecommunications, and other advanced technologies.” (ScitechDaily, New Semiconductor Device Turns Light Into a Directed Current)

“A pair of laser beams can now send electrons through a semiconductor in a chosen direction without any external electrical power. Researchers at the University of Michigan built the device to explore a previously unobserved physical effect and demonstrate that light alone can both generate and steer an electronic current. ” (ScitechDaily, New Semiconductor Device Turns Light Into a Directed Current)

The biggest problem with photonic computers is the nano-sized optics. That optics is needed to transmit information in the system. It uses light for data transmission. Photonic computers are becoming more interesting. Because they could use less energy. But the main role is that photonic computers. They are immune to EMP (Electromagnetic pulses). Optical data storage doesn’t care about electromagnetic radiation. The problem is. Of course, the control system. Of those computers. Moving parts like turning mirrors. Their turning mechanisms are still vulnerable. So. If we want to make a computer that is fully protected against the EMP.

We must put the entire computer. Along with its power source, in the EMP-protected space. The name of that space is a Faraday cage.

This metal cage denies radio waves. Travel through it. The system must communicate with the internet by using an optical switch. This means laser data transmission through that Faraday cage. The computer must use laser data transmission with the EMP-protected computer and the net. The system must not have one single iron or metal wire through the Faraday cage. Or. The EMP pulse travels through it. But optical communication through the cage. It could solve that problem.

There are actually three versions of photonic computers.

1) The system where data travels in laser beams between the microprocessors. This system uses conventional microchips. Laser beams transmit data into photovoltaic cells.  They transform it into electric signals. Microprocessors compute those signals as regular computers.

2) In the second photonic system, the data travels in photonic form through the entire system. The system. It can have nano-scale optics. That controls light. Like an electric computer controls electric signals. Optics require electric systems. That control those mirrors.

3) Fully photonic computers. There, the entire system operates. With. Some other than regular mirrors and prisms. Things like photoacoustics are promising tools. The photoacoustic or optoacoustic systems. It could control light by using pressure or sound waves in the optical materials. One of the things that can make this kind of dream possible. It could be the tool.

It uses electric eruptions in a mountain crystal to manipulate light. The light beams can be conducted to the quartz crystal. Then the system sends pressure waves into that crystal. That causes electric phenomena that affect light. The idea is to aim the laser beam into those lightning strikes that form in that crystal. But the problem is how to make those crystals small enough.

New semiconductor aims light precisely in the desired direction.  Researchers at the University of Michigan created a system. Two laser beams send information into the semiconductor. That semiconductor resends that information in the desired direction. This system can turn light in the desired direction. That is important for photonic data transmission. The system must control light beams. The diameter of those light beams is extremely small. And that makes it hard to create normal mirrors. These types of crystals can bring optical computers one step closer.

The crystals could manipulate natural light. They can make a new model for quantum optical stealth systems possible. But even if they could manipulate only IR light. That could be fundamental. If the system. It could aim just the IR radiation into the desired direction. That could make it possible to deny the IR signature. The system. It just directs IR light away from the observer. That makes it possible to create a system that is not visible in IR light. We know that turning the natural light away from the observer is challenging. But changing the direction of one wavelength type is easier. And the ability to aim IR into the desired directions. It can give the ultimate night-operation capacity. It could turn the system invisible to IR cameras. Because. It aims IR radiation away from the system.

The new systems allow researchers to control qubits better than any time before.

The new systems allow researchers to control qubits better than any time before.

The new observations about electron's permanent dipole movement are pathfinders for atom-size quantum computers. Precisely working quantum computers require the ability to control the system with extremely high accuracy. That ability requires that the system can observe its actor and a new type of sensor makes it possible to create new types of qubits. The ability to measure electrons' dipole movement makes it possible to create sterile photons with high-accurate energy levels.

Because the system sees the actor like electrons it can shoot very highly accurate laser beams into those quantum systems. If the system can make atom-size quantum computers those systems will be the most advanced tools that researchers have ever created before.

The atom-size quantum computer that operates at room temperature can turn even nanomachines intelligent. In some visions, researchers can put atom-sized quantum computers inside living neurons, and those systems could make a new type of boost for neural networks. Those atom-size quantum computers can have microscopic chambers where they operate by using neural electricity. Those small systems might exchange information between neurons. And that thing can give a boost to the abilities of the insects.

"MIT researchers have successfully controlled quantum randomness using “vacuum fluctuations,” introducing a breakthrough in probabilistic computing with potentially wide-ranging applications." (ScitechDaily.com/Harnessing the Void: MIT Controls Quantum Randomness For the First Time)

"A new study offers the most precise measurement to date of the electron’s permanent electric dipole moment, providing critical insight into the imbalance between matter and antimatter in the Universe. The study used electrons confined in molecular ions to improve the previous best measurement by a factor of about 2.4, aiding efforts to refine or extend the standard model of particle physics". (ScitchDaily.com/Cracking One of the Universe’s Biggest Mysteries: “The Most Precise Measurement Yet” of Electron’s Permanent Electric Dipole Moment)

"Using laser light, researchers have innovated a precise method to control individual barium qubits, advancing prospects for quantum computing". (ScitechDaily.com/Laser Precision Qubit Control: Leap in Reliable Quantum Information Processing)

The ability to control the quantum randomness makes it possible to create new quantum systems with better error-handling capacity.

What if we put qubit in the bubble, or some kind of cosmic void? That thing makes it possible to eliminate the outcoming radiofrequency radiation. The control of the qubit can made by using lasers. The idea is that the miniature void. That is made by using extremely high-energy electrons.

A laser or some maser system inputs energy to that electron which forms the protective field over qubit. The idea is that the electron sends radiation that power is easy to calculate. And then that radiation keeps the natural radiation with randomly changing energy levels away from the qubit. The idea is that the calculated and controlled field covers the non-calculated field.

The ability to control quantum randomness removes the disturbance from quantum systems. And that thing makes it possible to understand, model, and control the quantum systems. The ability to control quantum systems and calculate the outcoming effects makes it possible to create quantum calculators that have better error tolerance.

Theoretically is quite easy to remove the outcoming radiation effect from quantum computers. The system must know the qubit's original energy level and then the level of outcoming energy.

Then the system must just reduce the outcoming energy from the final energy level. (Final energy level-original energy level). Of course, the system must follow outcoming energy during the entire operation. And then it must know things like frequency, wavelength, and other kinds of things about the outcoming energy.

But if the system knows all the necessary variables and makes the right calculations at the right time. That thing makes it possible to create new quantum systems with higher error tolerance. Or the system can control and detect errors better.

Chaos is more common in societies than we ever thought.

Chaos and order. They are the presence of the individuals of the groups. When we look at wild animals, and especially herd animals like buffaloes at first we see that all buffaloes are in a form. That seems random. They are grazing and enjoying their life. The fact is that in that herd the direction of the animals is ordered. They are all looking in a certain direction.

And when they see some predator they give a warning sign. Then the herd starts to get the order. When buffalo sees a predator it must decide does it run or fight. If some lone cat is treating the herd the buffalo might want to fight. But a herd of big cats is too much. When those animals are getting a "warning danger" signal. They start to get certain orders.

We are seeing that when something like lions is threatening the herd those animals are starting to run by following a certain order. That order is made to protect those big vegetarian animals. But it's also a sign for other predators and preys that lions are hunting. During that hunt, lions must leave their puppies unattended. And the eagles and some other predators like hyenas can steal those puppies.

That's why lions want to end their hunt soon as possible. Every moment when lions are hunting their puppies is in danger. This is the reason why animals are screaming when they are under attack. The purpose of the scream is to call another predator to hunt that attacking predator. And turn its attention away from the prey.

Same way lions are starting to follow certain choreography when they are searching for their prey. But no group is under attack all the time. When lions get what they want rest of the group can go for free. The free time means that buffaloes can also rest. During that time the buffalo herds are grazing. They are, of course, attended. But those animals are doing their things.

That is the normal way to act in nature. When lions and other beasts are eating their prey the other, grass-eating animals have their free time. Of course, buffaloes are not the only grass-eating animals. And they are living in groups. Someday the lions will get other animals like gnus. Or they will select some other buffalo groups. If some animal group is often under attack there will become weak and old individuals to some other group or population.

And then predators sooner or later choose easy targets. We must remember that predators are not hunting for pleasure. They hunt for a living. Without prey also predators will die. Buffaloes are dangerous also for their predators. If their horns will hit a predator that can cause dangerous injuries. So that's why predators are searching for weak and ill individuals.

To find out those weak individuals. The predators are following certain choreograph before they attack. But when an attack is done. The rest of the prey herd can rest for a while.  During that time those animals are not in order. They eat grass and enjoy their life. Until they will get a signal about danger.

In an ecosystem, chaos is more common than people think. The herd animals seem very organized. But those animals are spending lots of their time in the unorganized form. So the ecosystem or society is organizing when they need that ability. The herd animals like lions, wolves, gnus, and buffaloes can organize their group when they need that ability. But those animals have also their own free time. During that time they are, taking care of their fur, and resting.

The embarrassing things and the Tor network are problematic to handle.

Many things, including Tor-network, are not purely good or bad. The Tor network offers the platform for telling things, prohibited in many countries. And that thing makes this network difficult to handle. When people are making things like legislation for the internet. They are balancing privacy and individual rights and control. The thing is that if something is prohibited. That just slips into the Tor network.

The Tor network is the place that might feel safe. But there is the possibility that organizations like NSA or some other intelligence agencies are made trap pages or "honey pots" in that network. Those homepages include a so-called tracking cookie, that is sent to the receiving computer and that cookie tells the location and IP address of the computer by sending the data over the Tor connection.

The same network that offers privacy is offering a platform for child abusers and drug dealers. And the fact is that the things like network pornography are embarrassing things for people who are playing with their attitudes and high moral things. When some people will justify something. They should understand. That when they are using the net somebody can walk behind them.

So what would you think about the person who justifies things like pornography? But in that person's home is a room full of pornographic movies. That thing is a little bit embarrassing. Same way. When a person like a conservative "family man" is surprised watching child pornography, that thing can be a "little bit" embarrassing.

The Tor network offers privacy and protects information. Privacy and information protection along with anonymity in the use of the internet are the key elements for protecting democracy. But those things are the most misused in the world. The Tor network is also the dark side of the internet. In the so-called darknet child abuse, drug dealers, and other kinds of marginal groups are found the place where those people can make their hobby. That is one of the saddest things on the internet. There should be limits to freedom.

Things like pedophilia are the tabu. They are prohibited, and the problem is that many people are not confessing those things even to themselves. And then suddenly they see the homepage, where are shown those things. So that homepage can turn very often to the browser of that kind of people. So sooner or later somebody walks behind that person, and then some things that are not tolerated in a middle-class family are seen on that screen.

The problem in western society is that people are hard to talk about their thoughts and "prohibited behavior". There is a high threshold to go to the doctor and ask about things like suspicion of pedophilia especially if the person is talking about themselves. That kind of thing might help, if a person gets support, therapy, and the right medical and maybe some child-abusing cases will not happen, if pedophiles dare to get help. And if some person is addicted to net pornography that disturbs the work that thing requires discussion.

But the internet has brought hardcore porn and its byproducts to the front of people. And some of the things that are in the films and pictures are embarrassing. There might be middle-class conservative families' housemaids making something that is prohibited.

The fact is that most of those people are full-aged and responsible for themselves.  But should we deny pornography? The fact is that this kind of thing just will slip to the Tor network where nobody can control it. The problem is that the wealthy pedophiles can travel to countries where is no legislation about those things.

The internet brought many things that are prohibited in front of people. The crimes and wars including the Ukrainian war are now in front of our eyes. And sometimes, I wonder would there be sanctions against Russia if there is no internet?

This is the problem with the internet and Tor-network. Tor network offers freedom and a channel to publish things that are not tolerated. The problem is that it's the platform for things like child abuse and drug dealers.

Was the shooter of Strasbourg in psychosis?

Kimmo Huosionmaa

There are some questions about the shooter of Strasbourg, and the main question is, was the weapon, what this person used legal or illegal? If the weapon is illegal, that would tell something about the relationships of this person's private life. If the weapon was legal, the question is, "how the radicalized person could carry the legal weapon?". When we are looking at the news of this sad case, we must notice, that we must stay in facts, what are published. There was no information about the weapon, what he used in shootings, but during the final moments, before police shot him, there might be a pistol.

Here I'm talking about firearms and that person might have more than one weapon. But when we are looking about this case, there were mentions, that he had a criminal background for robbery, and sometimes that kind of persons get "new road" to their life in prison, where they begin to think, that being the radical "soldier" has more style than being ordinary criminal. The Islamists have their own style to make propaganda, and they might claim every shooter operate as the "soldier of isis". Many people think, that those pieces of information are so-called fake news, where the Islamists want to tell the world, that they have a powerful and loyal network, what allows them to strike anywhere in the world.

When we are looking at the first name of the shooter, that is "Cherif", we can think, that maybe this person had a mental disorder, and he started to believe, that he has the call from heaven to work as "sheriff" in his community. Sometimes those persons, who get in the psychosis believe, that they have missions from "higher level", and they are patrolling in the area of the community. When the person is in psychosis, that means that the ability to understand reality is lost. And they can believe that they have got orders from some "holy men".

Sometimes the person, who is in psychotic condition believes that he or she has opposite gender, and in some cases, the parents have made the gender assignment to those persons when they are children. If the person is in psychotic condition, might that person believe almost everything, and those stories, what they tell in Mental hospitals are very weird. Sometimes in the home of those persons have been happened cases, what incite those patients to strength their believing, and if the atmosphere in the home is very radical, the ordinary criminal might start to think, that he or she operates for something higher purposes. And in this kind of situation every robbery and stealing, what this kind of psychotic person does happen for some "organization". This makes some of the psychotic persons  very dangerous.  Of course, this doesn't make the shootings any easier to stand, and we must show, that we do not tolerate violence.
